"For all these people...professed that they were strangers and exiles.... and they were longing for a better country, an heavenly one..." Hebrews 11: 13-16

So, what exactly is our stance in life, our stance in our faith life? Of course, if you are a Christian, I don't think you cling to this earthly life. However, that doesn't mean that we are necessarily taking the stance that heaven is our true home and that we are "strangers on earth," as the Scripture I quoted at the beginning of this article says.
Hopefully, we can anticipate our true home, the Kingdom of Heaven, and eternal life, even just a little, and take the stance of "strangers on earth." To do so, isn't it necessary for us to firmly remember our true home, the Kingdom of Heaven, together with our brothers and sisters through church life, where we can get a glimpse and feel the Kingdom of God on earth and God's rule, and to be convinced that "our home is in heaven" (Philippians 3:20)?
Just imagine this for a moment. Even if you were caught in a sudden rain shower like a squall, you would go and get the laundry that is hanging out to dry in the yard, right? Because even if you do get soaked, you have a house equipped with a clean shower and fluffy towels.
There is a saying that "It is only because there is a good harbor that people can embark on an adventurous voyage." If we can look forward to the Kingdom of Heaven, our true home, with a sense of reality, surely we will be able to somehow overcome the difficulties that come our way in this life on earth?
I often tell my students during the first semester exams: "After the exams, you have a long summer vacation, right?" When I tell them this, the students suddenly become motivated. They think that since summer vacation is coming up soon, they must somehow get through this test.
In a sense, isn't our earthly life like a challenging business trip or journey before we can fully enjoy the Kingdom of Heaven, which is our eternal summer vacation?
...Please don't forget to keep in mind the stance of "a traveler on earth" as you go about your daily life!
May the peace of the Lord God be abundantly upon every one of you who have read this! Shalom!!!
